A student's role in yoga is equally as important as the teacher's. This relationship needs to be cultivated on both sides so trust can be developed. When this trust is created, it ensures that the student receives what they need, as well as what is appropriate for them and this to helps to bring about a positive change.
The reasons for a personal practice can be many - from increasing flexibility and/or strength, to helping with mental or emotional needs, to offering support with existing conditions/illness/injuries.
Personal practice appointments are held in two classes - the first class is a consultation to determine the needs of the student and the second class is where the actual practice is given.

"Because a teacher's perception is not limited by our unique conditioning, he or she can often see what capacities lie hidden in us."
